UNDER CONSTRUCTION...
A Summer 2008 update: I await the release of two of my pieces in commercial CD recordings: Pensar Geometrico al Trasluz and Tres Piezas, for solo piano. Pensar is performed by the Talea Ensemble, and will be released by the Living Artists, Inc. label before Fall 2008. The CD contains music by former members of Just in Time Composers, a composer collective in the Boston area I participated in when I was a student, and that ceased to exist after several of its members moved away.
I have completed Se Habia Extinguido en Nosotros una Claridad II, for bassoon and piano--a ten-minute work written for my colleague Janis McKay. I currently work on Valdrada, a new orchestral work for the National Phiharmonic of Ukraine, which will premiere on December 10, 2008.
I will be participating as composer-in-residence at the New Music Symposium (Ofer Ben-Amots, director), part of the Festival of the Arts at Colorado College, in Colorado Springs, in July; and in October, at the SLAM, Seattle Latin American Music Festival (Cristina Valdes, artistic director).
In addition, I will be in Cortland Manor, NY at the Copland House for three weeks in September-October.
Most recent news: my orchestra work Pasiphaë will be performed by the New England Philharmonic (Richard Pittman, Music Director) in February of 2009.
